Device to test an RG-6 cable drop

Is there any quick, inexpensive way to see if a recent upgrade I just did in my switch box worked out? In particular, I need to determine if there is a signal at each of the cable drops throughout the house...

Also want to test 2 input lines (1 for Sat and 1 for phone) to see if these lines have continuity.

I would just walk around with a laptop.
