My friend gets an error message when he starts up his computer ever since he installed a Radeon 8500 on the Dell he just got(I think it's the Optiplex GX400) running Windows 2000. It came with a Rage 128 Ultra and he got a Radeon 8500 from newegg to upgrade.

I was wondering if anyone has had a problem like this before. Thanks.

I think I heard of this...seems that ATI's claim to the "Most Stable Driver" in video cards is a wee bit shaky...Try getting the newest driver and the newest DirectX you can, and let me know what happens. This may be an OS issue, but I would have heard alot more than this by now...see, I used to work for Dell Tech Support(in the place in Dallas, you know, the one that they closed in March)
