My roommate just formated his PC and installed XP on NTFS. Now there is an ! next to his vid card in the device manager and when you go to properties you get the Code 10 error. He's installed the latest Nvidia driver and the card was working fine in ME. Its a Visiontek Ti200. If you need anymore info lemme know.

Any ideas are very welcome.

Also we have reseated the vid card twice and installed Visiontek's drivers, still not working.

I found a similar thread here but they never really addressed the problem. From what I can tell his mobo is similar to an ECS K7SEM Pic. There are 2 major differences though. On my roommates mobo the CMOS battery is palced next to the bios and the heat sink on the mobo says T-Bird insted of ECS.

IN the BIOS you need to make sure that it states IRQ reserved for AGP.
Sounds like his system isn't giving the vid card it's reserved IRQ.

the only time AGP appears in the BOIS is to turn the OnBoard/AGP on or off.
There is also a set VGA to PCI option but thats off.

Had the same problem with my new GF4. Problem went away when I changed the "Memory usage" setting in XP to "Programs" instead of "System cache".

Control Panel > System > Advanced > Performance Settings > Advanced > Memory usage

Why? I don't know.

Good luck.
