My boss wants me to make (actually I came up with the idea so I can have something on my resume that is techinical in the god forsaken non-techinical position when I leave) a training manual for the students that work at the university library I work for. Well every book and tutorial I find is pedantic at best. Yeah I will learn the stuff but making a circle and making an immersive learning tool are light years apart and I need to be oh say a quarter light year from where I am right now. I know how to program but I'm stuck as to how to do this. HTML would be easy and static but also big in the amount of space it took especially if I go the graphic and visually intensive route I want to go. Any thoughts on where to begin? I'd like to mention I have access to basically any book I want if need be although web sites or flat out telling me :p would obviously be quicker. Hope I explained this halfway decently.

if you're not looking to develop something really complicated and is geared toward beginners without the use of much actionscript, then try this book:

ISBN 0-7668-2909-X

good luck :)

Be careful, if there's something you'll want to add later or modify, it'll probably be a much greater pain if it's Flash than if it's HTML...
