man, i just played the demo, Deus Ex 1 was one of my favorite games ever and the demo for 2 absolutly sucked. the HUD was horrible, my FPS were not good at all, image kept skipping all over the place, mouse sensitivity could not be set to a good level. horrible, absolutly horrible and i have a 2500 barton, 1 gig of ram, nforce2, and a 4200 128mb

and best of all, it does not save my settings in the settings when i exit and get back in

does the full version work better

Nope that sounds about right. I was disappointed with DX2 also.

There is a patch for the game but I don't think it improved performance, much.

Not quite true. The patch improved performance a lot, but it was nothing you couldn't achieve by manually editing the settings file.

That said, even when performance was fixed, I was REALLY unimpressed with the game (and, being the biggest DX:1 fan of anyone, I wanted to like it). It's incredibly short and just feels retarded. You can kill everyone on one side and they'll continue offering you jobs like nothing happened, etc.

found it ran really smooth on mine, though I bought late and patched soon as I installed it. (2400+, 768mb DDR266, 9800pro etc)

fun game in parts but really lacking for what should be a AAA title. For all the marketing about choice and the different ways to do things leading to different paths etc, it basically comes out the same by the end of any level. There was almost a nice concept that you (or at least I didnt) dont like any of the factions, but there was no real way to win the game like this and feel that your task of the game was worthwhile. What I assume were meant to be twists in the story I'd pretty much assumed by the time they're revealed anyway... for what it was supposed to be it still felt totally linear. Very dissapointing, could have been such a good game.
