"Deus Ex: IGN FlmForce talked with Greg Pruss at the Game Developers Conference in San Jose the other day. Pruss is the writer responsible for penning the script to adapt the video game into a movie for Columbia Pictures and updated what the current status is: "I'm sort of learning as I go at this because I started it based on the original game, using JC as the central character, as the hero figure, and even starting it before the game started. Now with 2 coming out, I'm kind of learning as I go with everybody else how much can be included and...good aspects of it 'cause there's a lot to it. The movie's to me more about character, than things exploding. For me I had to center it around JC Denton. He's a real movie star kind of guy. Most of the data's culled from the first game". Four of the main characters from the game will be included and the weaponary will be understandably scaled back. Thanks to 'Kailem'."

Shamelessly ripped from www.darkhorizons.com.

I am embarassed to admit that I still haven't played the first one . . . it's sitting on my stack of "to plays", though, along with Return To Castle Wolfenstein, No One Lives Forever 2, and Red Faction. ;)

I didn't pay for them, my dad is a gaming junkie, he goes through at least one a week. When he's done playing them he mails them to me.
