Deus Ex Revolution gameplay

It looks great, but seems WAY too easy. One of the best parts about DE1 was how things could turn against you very quickly if you made a poor decision. You had very little armor and most bots would absolutely shred you on site. This looks like Crysis's easy mode suit.

Well when you start with a game made for a console and port it to the PC its gonna be easy because we have mouse/keyboard combo 🙂

They've got to appeal to the target demographic:

Yeah, ranged combat will be easier for PC users, but it's much more than just that. The game uses a single button never fail take down system for stealth kills and knock outs, including being able to take down multiple opponents with that single button press. That combined with the 3rd person cover system means you'd have to be a complete dolt to fail any stealth sections. Further more, if you end up somehow screwing up the stealth and taking a few rounds, you have regenerative health to save you. To top off all of this off, you have rather ridiculous amounts of power to kill huge groups of enemies with essentially no skill, thought, effort, or time required.

The game looks down right terrible right now, IMO.

I really wish game developers wouldn't keep dumbing down their games. I wouldn't even blame it on consoles, because console games have gotten much easier over the years too. I still can't beat 007 Goldeneye on 00 Agent.

the powers look friggin sweet!

i hope this can live up to the original DE. they definitely have a solid looking atmosphere so far.

How ironic that everyone hated on Invisible War for getting consolized, while this game looks to be even more so. IW seems like a even better game after looking at this.

The tech in this game is way more advanced the the original game, despite being set 30 years earlier. 🙄

No way we're going to have this type of stuff in 17 years. More like 117 years.

I posted the observation in another thread as well (perhaps another forum?). Human Revolution seems to suffer from the same issues as Star Wars Episode 1. The technology in our own world to represent more advanced technology in our crafted worlds has advanced, so it results in prequels with far more advanced technology then the lore would otherwise dictate.

Developers (and film makers) need to show some damn restraint. Just because you can make a meticulously detailed crazy robotic suit, and show it off in slickly animated 3rd person sequences, doesn't mean you should.

:Edit: Of course looking at the picture of their demographic posted earlier, I imagine they know exactly what they are doing. 🙁

there's one argument you can always make - it's obvious the main character is augmented. people got carried away trying to one-up each other and you end up with Gunther and Anna Navarra.

JC Denton, being the latest nanotech, shows no signs of augmentation. he's still prototype stuff, so maybe he can't get as many augs at first, but he has greater potential.

just sayin 😉

Looked like a "scripted events" trailer and not a "gameplay" trailer to me.
Sadly, that is the gameplay. If you saw the leaked E3 video, which was uncut gameplay footage of this same level, you'd find that nearly everything you do is a scripted cinematic event that switches to 3rd person.
