2) your system is underpowered.

You need aproximately a 9800p to run near high details at 10x7 and the patch is critical to stability. 😉

no patch, but i did use a 9800 pro.

it ran so bad and looked awful before i d/led the patch, i can see what you mean , , , , i'd hate it too . . . . did you ever finish it?

AFAIK, the only people who dislike the patched DE:IW are the people that worship the original. 😉

$19.99 now

No it's not. Just bought it for $1.99 5mins ago, along with 5 other games for $23 total.

Kinda pissed tho because they had the first Anarchy Online expansion for $5 last nite and I didnt pull the trigger... sold out now  Woulda been great now that AO is 100% free.

Anarchy Online is now free to play online? I just saw this at the local BigLots for $ 6.97. Anyone have any feed back as to if this game is worth picking up? Is it a first person shooter?

By the way, great post......I picked up a copy of Deus Ex also.

AO is now 100% free, not only to play, but also free to download. They put up a Torrent some time ago after getting their servers hammered... check http://www.anarchyonline.com/

Glad to hear the bit about the fee if any AO expansions are used. I'll stick to the basics, thanks 🙂

Wow, just went back to buy Empires: Dawn of the Modern World for $0.99+1.99 slowboat shipping. Very highly rated by IGN (8.8) and Gamespot (8.5)...:thumbsup:

for some reason invisible war lags on my computer, which plays hl2 with no problem. hmmm...

did you d/l the patch? it is UNplayable without it. 😉

Even so, it is a big resource hog . . . . a 9800p can barely manage 10x7 with everything on .

i never finished it. but i never knew about the patch when i played it back when it first came out. after the frst couple hours, i got sick of how terrible it was and tossed it in the trash soon after.

it is a very good game . . . .
just do NOT compare it to the original 😉

it is quite different but if you give it a chance it is a good game in its own right . . . .

there have been several threads in the past few months in Software that generally gave it a

(just give it a couple levels . . . it starts SLOW . . . . really slow and pretty stupid . . . then suddenly gets good as the 'story' kicks in)

Thanks for your opinion but I think I will stick to the review sites like IGN, gamespot, and gamespy for gaming reviews and they each give Deus Ex invisible war atleast a 9 if my memory is correct

Doom 3 got good reviews at most sites and it is a major turd. It has nice graphics but the game itself it lame.
