Deus Ex 3

I'm surprised (or just missing it) that no one has mentioned more news on Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution.

A teaser trailer, more info and the actual name is released.

I'm probably 3 quarters of the way done with the original game and will eventually play invisible war but I'm definitely a fan of this.

Invisible War is good, but not if you go in expecting Deus Ex. It's much simpler, much less of an RPG, so go in with expectations of a good adventure FPS game and you should enjoy it.

Deus Ex 3, the developers have already said they thought Deus Ex was too slow, and they want to "streamline" Human Revolution. So if anything it will be even more simplified than Invisible War, so my expectations are pretty low.

Yeah, I'm expecting a repeat of Invisible War from everything we've heard so far, especially the regenerating health. Despite that, this could still be a very good game. IW was not like the first DX, but it's still better than the vast majority of other FPSs out there and is well worth playing.

I think there was a community mod that adds an entire sequel story to the orignal Deus Ex, complete with texture and model updates.

There are a couple of large scale mods/TCs for it. TNM is highly polished and is possibly the best mod I've seen for any game, although it's not really set in the DX universe. Zodiac is another good one.

There are texture and model updates for the original game assets and can be used with the main DX campaign. Look up HDTP and New Vision.

I can't say I even have expectations that high. It seems to be the mission of utmost importance to game developers everywhere to take near perfect and long established game franchises, then dumb them down to a point of retardation yet seen in the gaming world. I will be nearly shocked if Deus Ex 3 is even up to the dumb downed standards of Invisible War. Of course I still hope to see that shock happen.

On the plus side, since consoles are much more capable than the original xbox it may not have the whole "epic, world-shaping storyline which takes place in one corner of your bedroom closet" feel of IW.

Just the one Paris level of original Deus Ex had more to do and see than all of IW. DX1 - best game of all time. IW - average original xbox shooter.

I think its called Nameless mod. Apparently its the whole game revamped and it got very good reviews so I might check it out.

I would like to see updated graphics/textures for the game because it took you to so many places and it would look awesome at this time.

Heres some graphics enhancements, and campaign mods that are out, or will be out shortly. It's surprising that some of these mods are just now getting near completion and still being worked on.

god damn regenerating health. I hate it. Remember back when your last autosave only had like 10 health in a game and you had to figure out how to make it? Give me a fucking challenge.

100% agree. I swear game developers just use it out of sheer laziness. Take time to balance the game?! Pish! We have regenerative health, look at how much time we saved with that silly game balance, now we can use that extra time to add more explosions!

I haven't played the Deus EX series but bought them on the Steam deal this week. After I get bored of Bad Company 2, they are top on my list to play.

Another console port, I have pretty low expectations, but it might be surprising in the end, I hope it will, I just doubt it though.

Where is that one picture that says every time someone mentions Deus Ex, the game is reinstalled in the name of nostalgia...

Must resist...

Unless Im mistaken (maybe I should just replay it) but how was Deus Ex a RPG? I remember playing it when I was younger but remember it being a pretty straight forward shooting game...and Im talking younger young...like no attention span young, I wouldnt have made it through the game if it was Oblivion RPG FPS...

You have skill points to put towrds various combat, stealth, and hacking skills etc. You gain more by completing various tasks (main/side quests), and by finding secret areas and such. On top of that, the game can be played entirely stealthy without killing a single person, or buff up your combat skills and kill everything that moves.

Oh OK...so its not that indepth as it would seem to be reading other peoples comments...I remember the point system, didnt really see it as being an RPG type element. How was IW that much different/worse then? Maybe it was the updated graphics and a environment that felt more "alive" but I remember IW being much more enjoyable over all...I guess Im in the minority...

Deus Ex had a journal, inventory, health percentages for your body parts, battery meter, audio logs, coversations. You leveled up your augmentations and received points. It was a full blown RPG.

I am possibly the biggest Dues Ex 3 fan here, and the reason I havent posted anything is because we have no solid new. When we get an official release date, I will hop around like a leprechaun on PCP. Until then we wait patiently.

I hope it's good. Just finished Mass Effect which was quite awesome, although with some flaws. ME is comparable to Deus Ex, being more Cinematic, but with a lot of repetitive play.
