I just bought my first nVidia card and so far I'm not impressed with the drivers. I've been using the 22.80's and 23.11's on my Win98se system with DirectX 8.1 installed. I'm using an Epox 8KHA+ and Athlon XP 1700+. The video card is a Gainward GF3 Ti200 GS. I love the speed of the card but the image quality so far isn't all that great. I also hate how the gamma is so dark. Even with the gamma settings at their highest in games like CS, it's still too dark to be even playable. I guess my problems could also be attributed to my VIA KT266a chipset but even with a Voodoo3 2000 and Radeon 32 DDR that I had installed on this system earlier haven't given me as many problems.
I did overclock the card to 220/500 but I didn't get any artifacts or anything.
Nvmax also doesn't seem to work on my system either. Saying that I don't have a compatible 3d card. 3dMark2001 doesn't run either saying that I don't have a DirectX capable card which is weird cuz it worked when I first installed the card and got a score of 7401.
Detonator Destroyer doesn't work 100% either. It doesn't remove all the files so that when I set the card back to Standard VGA format to install drivers, PnP still detects it as a GF3 Ti200 and finds the driver.
Can anyone suggest a better driver set for my system?
