Detonator 6.18 vs 6.26 vs 6.27.. who wins?

I was reading various news and gaming sites about the recently released 6.27 drivers for the NVIDIA series of cards. If I have a GeForce 2 GTS, what driver update would you recommend for the fastest performance. I have seen some benchmarks where 6.26 was faster than 6.27 and 6.27 faster than 6.18 in a different area.

Does anybody know whats the best all around driver release? Its got to be stable and have the best frames per second.

I guess 6.26 are are perhaps a little faster than 6.27 IMO. Stick with 6.26 for now and wait for an updated driver which is more than .01

I dunno how much more nVidia will get out of these drivers!

My opinion is stick with what you are happy with(they are all beta anyway apart from 6.18)& just wait for the next official release.

Well whilst this wasn't exactly what you were looking for, Thresh's Firing Squad have done a comparison between the 6.18's and the 6.27's.

BFG, don't be shortsighted here. a few fps don't mean snot if the driver isn't as stable.

i donno bout you guys, but me, with a duron 600 / A7V / WinME / Asus Geforce DDR 6800

The 6.27 drivers are WAY better than the 6.18s. Shoot the 6.18s wouldnt even let me play a single game, and UT was about as slow as molasses.

The 6.26s were unstable and I was having all kinds of crashes, system hangs and what not...

I have been runnin the 6.27s, playing 2-4 hrs of games per day/ not having a single problem

I think that the 6.26 are the fastest out of the three, although that I use the 6.18

The 6.18 drivers may be faster, but there have been massive bug reports on those drivers. I even saw a report saying that they release those 6.18 drivers without sufficient testing on winME + durons (which is exactly what I have...)

In my opinion, the 6.27 drivers have been rock solid under many, many hours of Q3 and UT...

Just installed 6.31 on W2k, ran 3DMark2000, and got 13 points lower than 6.27.
