how is it that nvdia keeps rewriting the drivers and gets better and better performance out of the same card? cant they just write the drivers well the first time?

Unlike some companies Nvidia actually spends some money on driver development. It would seem that their first goal is stability. Once they have that then they seem to be working on ways to get more performance out of the cards. The reason this improved performance wasn't in say the first driver is because it has to be discovered. Asking them to have all the speed in the world on the first driver release is impossible. It's like expecting the original Ford Model T to have had a 300hp engine, efi, airbags, etc...
Personally I'm thrilled that Nvidia is spending the money to put out good drivers and to keep supporting and improving on not just their newer cards but also their older video cards.

gus, no one has been able to get a leak of the det 4 series....yet.....

Why would someone complain about a company releasing improved drivers? All the so-called "leaks" are nVidia's way of testing new features, so don't complain when they give you glitches or whatever in game X....if you own an nVidia card, you should be very happy with the driver-writers there....

Well, I am talking about leaked drivers.
I am sure some folks already have them.
Nvidia obviously knows their drivers will be leaked, but I am not certain they can predict or dictate the exact week for the leak.

I thought that the drivers were supposed to be released by now. Didn't the review say that it was due that week? (it was dated on the 13th)
