Detonator 40xx problems

Everything runs fine with version 30.82 of the Detonator drivers , But everytime I install the 40's I get random "flashes" on my monitor (during games and on desktop)

Any Ideas ?
I heard somewhere that you need to apply a fix when upgrading from the 30's to 40's is this true ?

yes there is a fix and its available from
Guru 3D
its called something like "30.xx to 40.xx fix"
also, when you install the drivers, make sure that any antivirus software is turned of completly, as this can cause problems when the drivers have installed for some reason.
