Insidious yep it is. John please post the one for non subscribers. Thanks

I don't subscribe because the anandtech forum has always been very fast for me. I go forum to froum and topic to topic in 1 sec or less always. So its fast enough for me already.

All you need to do is change subscriber to forums. I thought Zuni said he fixed the URL's to redirect if you weren't a subscriber.

This is one good reason for you all to subscribe so that you can click my links! :)

John no i will just change it to forums like you said. Thats not annoying.

I already get my fast 1 sec or less to forum to forum and topic to topic. Even when the topic is big. So i don't need it for any other reason.

When I am using the non-subscriber server, the forums crawl like I am on a 56K.

I will try those dets on this secondary rig and see how they perform.

So annnnnnnnnnyway, still seem a little buggy. Probably just stick with the 30.82's a bit longer. Still waiting for my favorite tweaker will catch up with the 40 series so I can OC and do the refresh thingy with a single app.

What tweaker is that you ask? Sorry that information is only for non-subscribers.......... MUHAHAHAHAHA :D

Zuni-

I'm going to explain this, as those that are "annoyed" that this doesn't happen don't quite understand how this works. There is no way to change links for subscribers without modifying core code, which we are not going to do as that ruins any upgrade path in the future builds of the forums. Now, for the subscribers it was easy to do a swap of url if they clicked on a forum link then fire them to the subscriber servers, just using a top template that is modifyble. It is impossible to do it the other way around, as when you enter subscriber.anandtech.com it is going to the subscriber servers right away, then it is going to go through the subscriber authentication checks. It just isnt going to happen guys, sorry but sometimes you can't have what you want.

Re-linified for non-subscribers

See sig for instructions on how to redirect the subscriber URL's into typical forums.anandtech.com URL's automatically.

John does not crawl like a 56k modem for me. It goes as fast as high speed internet like a T1,DSL, cable modem, etc. 1 sec to go to each forum to forum or less. 1 sec to go into topic to topic. Even the big topics, etc.

Do these drivers increase performence like fps in GTA3, unreal 2003,etc at 1024x768 and 1600x1200. Plus is the performence with full FSAA and AF on increased a lot or any?

Should we take the thread back to its title guys? Ok, this set seems quite stable for my GF2ti without crashes except once in CStrike.
I also love the refresh rate fix for D3D plus the new display properties interface. As for the great performance issue, situation is quite mixed up. RTCW and quake go around 10% up or stay the same depending on the resolution I test, Max Payne shows a significant drop in both 1024 and 1280 resolutions of around 25%(!!) :( while FIFA2002 becomes slightly crappy at 1280*1024... Almost forgot-3DMark falls around 150pts back too....
I could barely say that nVidia is optimising their drivers for OpenGL usage...!

:)
In the end, a cool set for beta stuff but Santa Clara has to try more to get that 25% increase in performance it claims in the web site...;) I 'd love to here more impressions though plus your benchmarks- Come on, I know u all gave it a shot...!:)

I gave them a shot. I got the advertised increase in 3DMark2001 but I still noticed strange texture issues (such as when the dragon is flying to the castle for the attack).

In the end I went back to the 30.82 drivers because I don't like beta drivers. I do enough beta testing for M$ when I boot into Windows.

i had the most luck with 40.52. the 40.41 drivers seems to be the worst for me. i found 40.71 to be slower than 40.52.

I got a minimal increase in 3D Mark 2001SE, going from 30.82 to 40.71 yielded 100 points increase (from 8505 to 8602). I'm using GF3 Ti 200 @230/540, XP1600@10x156. The drivers seem stable so far so I'll keep them for now.
