What a mess.

Win98SE, Maxi Gamer Xentor32, AGP

Celeron 600a on an Abit ZM-6/384mb

Deleated the older driver, installed the new ones, and now I'm not able to see any resolution above 640x480... On my 21" HP. Argh! Is the same for drivers ( from Guillont/Hercules.

Using DirectX-8.

Any ideas??

Try to find a monitor profile on the manufacturers web-site or within Windows itself for your monitor. I had this problem with the Detonator 2 (5.45) drivers also. They seem to have hang-ups on working with certain Plug&Play monitors and dont like non plug&play monitors much at all.

The monitor is an HP/Sony tube A4331D.... Still looking for driver.

It just crazy that this would even matter.

If the monitor has been detected properly under plug&pray it should be fine.

Anyway, found the link to the hp monitor .inf files you need. Click this link and then select your monitor model.

To install, go to 'Display' properties in the Control Panel, click on the 'settings' tab, then click the 'advanced' button. Another window will open. Click the 'monitor' tab and then click on the 'change' button.
Windows 98 may be a bit picky about this, so just select to 'display a list of drivers in a specific location' and click 'Have Disk' and point it to wherever you save the file. Then pick the correct profile for your monitor (if its not there cancel everything as this can be potentially destructive if an incorrect profile is used) and ok it. If windows gives a warning that this may not be written specifically for your device, just ignore it.
