Detonator 3 Driver=Huge difference?!?

I installed the DET3 drivers for my ASUS 6800 DLX and BAM! I get nearly 900 more points running 3dmark2000!?! Is this accurate? Such a huge dif! It also srewed up my default monitor settings. Everything was squished on my monitor until I bumped the refresh to 85hz. Has anyone else gotten such a performance differance with the DET3 drivers? I was using the 617 previously. LMK.
 
Somewhere above the 6.17, I think it may have been the 6.35 they did something with the hardware texture and lighting that gave a big boost but thats all I can tell. Look here If ya havn't seen it already. Geforce FAQ

I went from the Creative Labs drivers for me Geforce 2, to the Detonator Three Drivers (which BTW, is the same thing as version 6.31 which I don't understand, but that's what Device Driver tells me!) and saw a big boost in performance. My 3DMark scores did go up, but not by too much. The main diff I saw was that games were a lot "smoother" for lack of a better term. 3D objects had more visual clarity...that kind of thing. It's worth upgrading to them.

BTW, after upgrading the driver, I did have to go and reset my monitor resolution and refresh rate, but it wasn't a big deal. Everything works fine.

On a parallel note, I'm now trying to decide whether or not to upgrade to the latest "unoffical NVidia driver" the 7.51. Go ahead and use the Detonator Three, it's good to go.
