Detonator 12.41 problem

After installing the new detonator drivers, I get sound with some backround noise, like hiss..I use the Creative CT5880 4 channels PCI. No problems with older detonator drivers. I need to use those with a Geforce3, so I need full directx8 support. Any ideas how to make the sound work with these drivers? please guys, I'm really pissed off.

Have you updated your sound drivers recently? It's possible if you JUST installed DX8 that DX8 itself could be causing you problems.

What OS are you on?

can't find any drivers for the CT5880, it's integrated audio on gigabyte mobo.

if it's drivers you need, driverguide.com is the place. i've needed literally more than hundreds of drivers for systems where i've either lost the cd or just didnt get one with the mobo or what have you, and they've ALWAYS so far, 100% been successful for me. Try looking for the drivers there. by the way, i'm also having problems with the 12.41 driver, so I went back to my old driver for my card. good luck!

I recently setup a Dell Dimension 8100 for my uncle, who's computer has a GeForceMX TwinView. I put the 12.41's in, freshly downloaded from nVidia, and he's never had any problems! To top it off, AOL is his primary program. 🙂 He has the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, BTW.

So do you see why video card driver may affect sound? Maybe some conflict, any ideas?😕

Only when it's an IRQ problem.

Not conflicts in control panel->system. How can identify an irq problem and assign another irq?
