Deterministic network enhancer miniport VPN Trouble

Hello,
I tried installing VPN to my computer. The installation malfunctioned and didn't complete properly. If I try to run installation again, same thing happens.

So now when I reboot, I get an XP window that pops up and says Found New Hardware, and talks about a deterministic network enhancer miniport. If I try to install it crashes, I just close it. I've tried to "remove" this hardware (which isn't really hardware). No luck.

Ever since I tried to install VPN, my computer has been running slow.

Any help is appreciated!

Nate,
The reference to determonistic refers to the media access method that uses a token or a multiplexor. Are you part of a ring network? You may need to go into and disable the port that it is trying to access.

Hi, thanks for your response. No, I am not part of any ring network (that I know of! =). Do you know how to disable the port?

Update... sometimes when I put in a CD into my DVD-ROM drive, the computer resets. Is this a PSU problem? I am normally doing some multitasking when this happens., including some USB stuff plugged in.

2.6ghz P4, 800mhz FSB, 512mb pc3200 ram (cheap ram). DVD-ROM drive, CD burner. 128mb Geforce4 AGP 8X...
300watt PSU (!) Might be a problem here, not sure. Cost me $9 last year.
