How can you tell how hot your video card is running? Also, I am using stock cooling on my 9800 Pro and have the core overclocked to 405 while the memory remains at 378. How safe is this?

there is a program "AIDA32 ENTERPRISE EDITION" that has temperature monitoring functions, it can tell the temp of your mobo, around the card, if that's any help.

I have that...I would like something that tells temperatures of the video card itself if there is such a thing...

Get a thermistor and put it on the card. It has no thermal diode to take temperature readings off of.

Yes, I have put a thermal sensor that came with the case and it works quite well. It idles @42-45C and 50-55C full load. (stock speeds).
