Determine vehicle electric load and amps used

Using which device or method, I could calculate and determine total electrical loads and amps used in a vehicle ?
 
Volts * amps = watts
Add up the wattage of each component.
Divide total by 12 (or 14) to get load on electrical system.

Or hook up an ammeter to your alternator.

That's what I originally said.
But I also partly misunderstood the question, so I decided to retract my comment.

I get very suspicious when they have a post count of 1, and it sounds just like a teacher question, with NO explanation as to WHY they want the answer.

This is an excellent link. Thanks and hopefully I don't have ever need to use it.

I agree it is an excellent link.

But a better way, is to use a current clamp meter (if you have one, can borrow one, or afford one, they are NOT very cheap, but not that expensive either).
A clamp meter means you don't need to disconnect the wiring.
