Detection of AHCI drives happens very slowly (P5B-Del)

Detection of AHCI drives happens very slowly since I enabled this option for my two SATA drives (non-raid). This happens on a reboot or startup right after it POSTs. It takes about 10 secs to detect each drive and when they get detected, each one literally "clicks." If I disable AHCI there is no problem with detection nor with clicking. If I hit the reset switch after they are detected (like forcing a reset of the O/S), this lag doesn't happen (it's instantaneous).

Anyone else having this issue with this board? I'd like to fix this. I'm running the latest BIOS (1101 I think).

Thanks all!

I've seen this a few times with my drives, but now it doesn't happen anymore and the POST/pre-Windows boot up is fast. I am still using AHCI and didn't change anything as far as I can remember. I thought maybe it caches or stores the drives after a few times.

Hmm.. are you sure you didn't change something in the BIOS? Another thing (maybe related) I noticed is that sometimes when I save the BIOS settings (exit and save) the machine turns off, then on, the off, the on (and stays on). You notice that on your board too?
