I just bought a new processor, (AMD Duel Core 939 +4200), Mother Board (Gigabyte GA-K8N-SLI), and Graphics cards (2x evga ko 7600GT). I replaced my old equipment with this but I poped out my Memory, Hard Drive, and Wireless card and put them into the new motherboard as is. When I booted up my system for the first time it tested my memory then said "Detecting IDE Devices" Then it showed them my hard drive and my CD-ROM then it said "Detecting IDE Devices again." I switched the IDE connectors all around from all slave and master postions and tried 3 different IDE connectors. I changed the jumper accordingly but I am having no luck getting my new system to boot up. I looked in the Bios for anything astray but I could not find anything. Any suggestions please?

If your hard drive happens to be a Western Digital, and it's on a cable by itself, then set its jumper for Single Master, which is easy because you simply remove the jumper cap completely and leave it off, and that's Single Master (on WD brand drives). This sometimes is the solution to the problem. I'm not sure if it applies to your situation or not.

Other than that, double-check that all the drives have their power connectors firmly plugged in.

Put your CD-ROM and Hard drive on different IDE cables and set them both to master, or Single master. Make VERY certain that you have the jumpers correct, do not use CSEL.

/edit, not completely related to this problem, but you will need to format and re-install windows on that hard drive.
