Detecting a Hard Drive

Hi I have 2 hard drives
one Maxtor and one ST3600 on my computer

I would like to reformat the one that I am not using right now.
Also, I cannot detect the drive that I am not using right now (I don't know which drive I am using and which one I am not).

Thanks

check in bios to see if it sees it there.
or you may need to tell it to look for it.
(on my comp seems i turned something off.. once i turned it back on..np all done)

goodluck

Welcome to AT.

Are those IDE drives? Are your jumpers set correctly?

So you have windows installed on one of the drives, but you don't know which one?

Did you do the windows installation?

Like beany said, check to see if it's detected in BIOS on startup. If it is, then try going into disk management in windows and see if you need to assign it a drive letter.
