1. Interesting to see them fit all these (8 DIMM slots, hopefully at least 3 PCIe slots plus all the regular stuff) onto an ATX form factor board.

2. I hope they won't remove Quick Sync from these processors.

Well they could stop using up all that stop dedicated to unused PCIe connectors and put some dimms there.

New Macs come with switchable graphics, maybe a good sign that Z68 will do the same.

That's been true for a while now, and it's because the laptops and iMacs all use laptop chipsets. The outputs of the integrated and add-on video processors share the same output connector. In a desktop PC where there are physically separate output connectors, switching between graphics adapters on one output connector would require frame grabbing from one adapter to the other. I imagine this would create a large performance hit.

That makes sense, hopefully they will at least have a way of accessing QuickSync while using an external GPU. Thats all really care to use regarding the iGPU and i can forgo the external to do that as i dont play games.

Sooo you want to use quicksynch with an external GPU, but you don't want an external GPU because you don't play games. How does that work?

Sorry from your link . I couldn't help but lol .

According to this roadmap we're looking at the H61 chipset to arrive fairly shortly and the Z68 towards the end of this half of the year,

You will see the Z at cebit
