det 3 drivers; they ain't really worth it>:[

I've had a diamond v770 32meg. It's been clocked over default settings to 160/190 for over a year now. I've never had a problem with it, and it is not overheating. I've always used nvidia's v3.68 reference drivers. I installed detonator 3 drivers just a few days ago because I heard they did wonders, and received an irritating drop in fps in q3a timedemos. Little spots also started showing up on the display and increased in number unless the card memory was set to lower frequency. I reinstalled the 3.68 drivers and mostly got back the fps, but the artifacts are still showing up. I increased the sys voltage but had no effect. Any ideas why this is happening? I don't get it because it was fine for so long, and changed only after the detonator 3 drivers were installed. Bloody hell.

anyway, thanks for the commentary, but I was looking for a solution, or at least some anecdotal referants to help solve the problem. Like I said, I reinstalled the previous drivers, so the d3's are no longer an issue unless some unknown remnant was left from their installation. Anyone with any experience with these symptoms? Thanks for whatever experience you can relate.
