Det 21.81 and Shockwave problem?

There seems to be a problem between Det 21.81 and Shockwave. I was going to play some 3D games made with Shockwave, and it completely locks up WinXP. The reason why I say it's Det 21.81 problem is that WinXP automatically went BSOD saying there's a problem with nv4_disp.dll.
Can anyone confirm this?
