Ok thank you for reading this and helping me out.

My Problem:
My hard drive is full of crap and I get loads of popups and I want to do a Destructive Recovery.

My Question:
When I do the Destructive Recovery will i need any discs like restore ones? On the site it says
A destructive recovery will format the hard drive. This will delete all the information on the hard drive and reinstall Windows XP and the original software that came with the computer.

It also mentions:
HP computers that ship with Microsoft Windows XP do not come with recovery CDs. Instead, they use a hidden space (partition) on the hard drive to store the recovery information. The use of a separate partition provides a convenient process that eliminates the use of recovery discs that may be lost or scratched.

I have no discs and I am wondering will everything be OK when I am done with the recovery.

Thanks!

The "destrctive recovery" will put your computer back exactly as it was the first time you turned it on. Everything you installed, created, or saved since then will be gone.

Sounds like you need some better security. I'd fix that right away or your "destructively recovered" computer will shortly be back to the state where the "detructive recovery" is required again.

Other wise. Get a copy of your mobo drivers and BUY a Reg OS and reformat

Why should he buy a new copy of XP? It is perfectly legal for him to download an image and use that if he prefers so.

So everything will be back to the way I purchased it. XP + Original Files + Original Programs right? Thanks for all your help guys!
