guys I am looking for a good game series to play that will allow you to immerse yourself in the storyline like the old Ultima series which is still my favorite. I have tried morrowind but it doesnt give me the same feelings at all. seems nowadays gamers have such short attention spans that games are made to be flashy and easily won with little or no complex storyline. Any suggestions?

I played all of the Ultimas, yes, including IX(although I had to cheat twice to get past the frelling bugs!)

Anyway, my recommendation would be for either Neverwinter Nights or Dungeon Siege

Having played both, each has it's own strengths and weaknesses, but thoroughly enjoyable to an RPG'er like myself. :)

For great storytelling:
Planescape: Torment
Fallout 1 & 2

For decent storytelling and ongoing adventures:
Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 with expansions

For hundreds of hours of fun
Final Fantasy Chronicles, Anthology, FF 7 - 8- 9. (Playstation versions, around $15 each on eBay, and a PSOne on eBay is under $25)

yes I have won all the fallouts, baldur gates and NWN's. Morrowind was Immerse but It was too big I guess to wrap you up in the storyline IMHO. I just flipped my PS1 games and I forgot I had FF5-9, Tactics, XenoGears and Legends of Dragoon. Those should keep me happy for a long time till the PC side of things gets more interesting LOL. Thx guys

I couldn't agree more. If you want to immerse yourself in a story, I can't think of anything better than Planescape: Torment. The Fallouts were almost as good of story imo and just all around some of the best games I've ever played. For something newer, I thought Knights of the Old Republic had a good story too, but not as good as either of the other suggestions.

Edit: was already writing before I saw you already have the Fallout games

KOTOR's twist is amazing, better than the one from Empire Strikes Back. But that game isn't the longest. Perhaps if you play through the dark and light side with both genders (4 play throughs), KOTOR2 should be out for PC by then and it is good enough for play through, of which I think the story is suprisingly good considering the first one was so hard to follow.

I have a couple saves from my old character in Morrowind(currently trying out another). They're about 400 days long. Along with the expansion packs & mods, this game never gets old.

Gothic 1 and 2! I love 'em and if you could get past the clunky controls you'll find some great gameplay. Also part 3 is coming soon so you could give the first 2 a shot and prepare for the next game.
