Alright, so I was at work the other day and a coworker was working on my laptop. When I came back it was a little sluggish and she had only spent ten minutes on it so I check out the processes and low and behold I find that there is 415 MB PF! when I left it was 130MB. I asked her what she had done and she said she only surfed the internet, and I believe her.

So I restart to fix the problem, only it doesn't, same symptoms, and it's using 100% CPU.

After countless hours of trying various things I give up and reformat, I reinstall a clean install of WinXP Pro and it seems alright. But then after a few reboots it doesn't the same thing again! I reformated another time and did a clean install to no avail. I'm out of ideas. It just bogs down whenever the computer starts up, extremely slow because of 100% CPU, it's almost as if a process sucks up all the CPU and doesn't allow windows to continue, in the processes it shows winlogon or explorer always using 99%. Interestingly enough after waiting forever i was able to get into msconfig and disable everything, and it worked, I finally narrowed it down to if I disable Plug and Play under Services, It will boot up at decent speed, but I don't have any network capabilities or anything. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, if you need any info on the situation, just say the word!
