moved my motherboard back to its old case ,
and now it will not recognize cd rom drives (tried dvd, and cdrom)..
I can't even tell if they power up .........yes, tried different power connectors.
I have tried every combination of master-slave, but as soon as I hook
up the cdrom, the hard drive is no longer recognized. Either the computer freezes at the bootup screen, or it boots with only the floppy recognized.
The hard drive has
no operating system, had to hook up another one as master to format it,
and it is slave on ide1 (it will not work as anything else, no matter how many times
I move the pins, always have this problem with maxtor)- I am at the end of hope and patience
