desperate help needed... no xserver on new install of suse9.0

I just got done installign suse 9.0 on a nforce1 mobo. now whenever I startx I get nothing... the screen is blank, the monitor doesn't go into standby though. I have to ssh in and kill -9 X to get a commandprompt.

I have manully edited my XFree86 config fiel with the exact refresh rates for my monitor. I don't know what else to do.
the install went flawless till after everythign it tried to start KDM.

Does SuSE come with Nforce drivers ?

it has support under xfree86 using the "nv" driver

still no luck.... wth... I can't even get virtual consoles using ctrl-alt "num" when X is running.

well I got it working... I started over and did a minimal install with graphical desktop, then once I was into a basic system with X I installed everything else.

then for some reason it kept making my keyboard german..... try getting around where 90% of the keys work but y and z are reversed and you have no /......:|

I manually edited my XFree86config to a US keyboard and it works now 🙂
