I have an Aopen AX6BC Pro II Millennium. I recently replaced the P3-500 CPU fan with a dual-fan GlobalWin cooler. When I first installed it, the fans worked fine. Recently though, they have shut off and will not work. If I unhook it so that 1 fan onlt is hooke dup, it will spin after I give it a little motivation with my finger. I have verified this with a different, unused fan as well (CPU Cool M1), so I know it's not the fan.

The most recent addition was a VisionTek Xtasy GeForce 2 MX400 AGP video card. Thinking I didn't have enough power, I replaced my 250W PS with a 300W Antec. No change.

Is there something I'm missing? Is my motherboard shot, or did I modify a setting somewhere that I can't find again? Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated!

Are the fans connected to the MB or the PS? Should be connected to the PS. Also if the fan powers up after turning the fan manually, then there is something wrong with the fan. Did you try the cpu/fan combo in another system? Must isolate whether it is the fans or not enough power.

Never use the MB fan header for serious fans. Get an adapter to run from the PS.
