Desktop Wireless

I've just moved to a new house, and I don't think I'll be able to run a cable from my family's router (downstairs) to my room, where my computer is (upstairs). As a result, I'm thinking about using a wireless solution from my desktop computer.

Has anyone here ever used such a thing? If so, what do you recommend?

If you want a regular setup, then get a wireless G router and a USB or PCI adapter for your desktop. Those 2 should cost you $60 (netgear setup on sale this week at Staples)

It looks like a PCI card with an external antenna (that connects via a coax cable) is recommended. Are there any specific brands that seem to work well?
