When I choose to switch wallpapers, it seems like all of my pictures in the "My Documents\My Pictures" folder show up as possible wallpapers to select from. I have a lot of pictures in that folder and all of them show up in the wallpaper menu, making it more cluttered and harder to choose a desktop background. If I want to choose a wallpaper, I keep it in" C:\WINDOWS\Web\Wallpaper" - any way to make WindowsXP only show those pictures from that single directory, rather than including "My Pictures" too?

I'd rather keep all of my pictures in the "My Pictures" folder since that's the default directory for my graphic programs. So I just need a way for WindowsXP to not look in My Pictures, and preferably not any other directory except for "Windows\Web\Wallpaper" - anyone else know a way to set that, like an option hidden within 8 layers of preferences or some registry hack?

Last bump...pleeeeeaaaaaaaaasee help. It's really annoying to try to find a cool looking wallpaper by clicking through 40 pictures of my sister's confirmation.

Create sub-directories for all the pictures you don't want in the wallpaper selection menu. I had this problem as well, so I put all my pics in "My Documents\My Pictures\All Pictures" It's probably not the best way to do it, but it hasn't been a problem for me.

afaik? What's that?

Is it really that much of a problem?

Yes! I'm really anal when it comes to having everything just right for my computer. I'm sure all you comp geeks understand, right?

Thanks for the link...

Tried this but didn't work. I have it under "My Documents\My Pictures\New Folder\"

Yet, all of the pictures show up in the desktop selection menu.
