I was hoping to get a laptop with an Iris 5200 but there is only one model out so far that does not meet my requirements. I need something soon, so I am looking at new ultrabooks with the HD4400.
I am considering attaching an external monitor to the ultrabook for desktop work. Is there a limit to the Win8 desktop that the HD4400 could drive or would it be able to comfortably display a new high-res monitor? I assume displaying 1080p video on a high res desktop wouldn't be a problem since the ultrabooks I'm looking at have native 1080p resolution. I wouldn't mind having the option to play some games on low settings but this isn't a priority.
