Im looking for something to "split up" my desktop, so to speak, so I can organize it better. Something roughly like this, I guess. Any software like that?

If you wanted to go the very low tech route, you could just make a background image with titled boxes on it and set it to
be your desktop background then just arrange your icons in the correct spots.

Just a thought.

Wow, the retro look.

Is it just me or does that look a lot like Windows 3.1.

Don't know if there are any programs to do it on newer OSs though.

I'd obviously like something a little more modern than my example. The low-tech idea suggested above is decent-Hadnt thought of, but I'd prefer something dynamic.

Huh? All you can see is part of a desktop with 5 icons ! and the icons look OK.

My desktop organization is this:

one icon: thrascan
all other apps in kicker (AKA Taskbar in Windows). I also use quick-access menus in the kicker. For example, I have menu called "Internet", which has all my internet-related apps. I also have a menu that gives me access to all my filesystems (Windows-partitions, CD-ROM etc.). I have something like 5-6 items in Kicker, including the K-menu (AKA "Start menu") that gives me acces to rest of my apps.

EDIT: Screenshot. Old, but still valid.
