Desktop/Laptop Sync Tool

Greetings,

I'm looking for a tool that I could use to sync my laptop with my desktop. The desktop is my primary machine where all the work gets done and laptop is used through out the day whenever I'm away from my desk.

My original train of though was to RDP into my desktop but I really hate the laggy feeling with remote connections. So I'm looking for a software that could sync selective folders, desktop, my docs, etc. between machines via a USB or a network conn. Could anyone help with this?

Thanks in advance.

Windows Live Sync is free. All you need is a hotmail account. This does route your info through a MS server though and I don't beleive it is encrypted. I use it to copy photos/music/ personal docs from one PC in my house to the other. It's also great for transfering photos to my parents PC which is 300 miles away. All done behind the scenes. Pretty sweet app IMO

Live Mesh is another option - I like that it also supports RDP.

You should note that all of these have problems with certain file types and/or file sizes (e.g. PST files or anything above 2GB)
