Desktop icons & start menu icons acting strange

The thing is, this happened after I played through FEAR's demo. I ran 2 antivirus checks, lavasoft and spybot and all came clean.

I'm puzzled by this and can't think of a reason how to fix it.

You can try this to see if they will revert back correctly.

Right-click on the desktop, then 'Properties'
Click on the 'Appearance' tab, then "Advanced"

under 'Item', choose "Icon' and set it to 1/2 of what it is now.

If they display correctly you can switch it back.

If that doesn't work, use System Restore and go back to a day before you corrputed your system with FEAR's demo.

Thank you so much LiLithTech, it worked perfectly. Is there a reason why it did that in the first place? its not something I should worry about is it?

You might find layout.zip and download it. It installs as a driver in your /system32 folder, and enables you to right click on My COmputer and Save or Restore your desktop layout.
