Desktop Icons revert to Windows XP theme upon restarting?

Greetings everyone,

I'm running Windows XP Professional Build 2600. For some reason, I change the desktop icons or load a theme which does update the My Computer, My Network Places, My Documents, and Recycle Bin Desktop icons but upon rebooting, it loads the default 4 desktop icons for the Windows XP Theme once again. Anyone knows what I can do to fix this since deleting the iconcache.db file didn't do anything. Thanks.

^bump^ anyone?

It seems like the problem is that it only affects my account but not newly created accounts or Administrator account. For some reason, the 4 keys that go under HKEY_CURRENT_USER are there but upon logoff and logging in again or simply rebooting, all 4 of the keys get deleted. This doesn't happen with any other accounts, anyone have any ideas what can be causing this? Thanks.

Have you tried the XP version of TweakUI? There's a setting in there to "Save Explorer Settings", which might do the trick. Part of the powertoys set for XP:

Hmm, I have tried Repair Icons in TweakUI but that didn't do it. Where is the option you're referring to? If it's in the Group Policy Editor then I've already tried that. Thanks!
