Desktop Icons in Vista.

It seriously takes like 10 minutes for some programs to open up when I click on there desktop icons in vista. Why is this?
 
You may be clicking on them BEFORE Vista is finished loading, and the last things to load are Gadgets, AV and Firewall. If you try to start an app before these are settled, you can delay the whole process. A lot of that depends on your CPU and memory as well. However, having said that - 10 minutes is an excessively long time.
