Hi All,

I'm new to the forums. Mainly because of one problem I've had for about a week now. I am running Windows 2000 Professional, and when I bootup everything is fine. UP UNTIL after I enter my password to login to Windows. I notice the hourglass cursor is just on, while my desktop hasn't loaded yet. So I went to task manager to see if "explorer.exe" was running, it and was! But my desktop didn't load up, so in order to get access to my desktop and taskbar, I have to kill that current "explorer.exe" and click NEWTASK to start up a new "explorer.exe"! Only after doing that, my desktop will load. Also I notice a program in TASKMANAGER called "svchosting.exe" which is NOT "svchost.exe" of course >.<! Hope somebody here will help me...

Thanks!

PS: I recently got rid of a virus causing my computer to reboot after a 60 Second Warning labeled "LSASS.EXE" and got rid of MSBLAST worm, does that relate to my desktop problem? o_O

svchosting is a variant of SDBot. MS KB 835732. See if that helps. Also, check your registry startup files.

I have already got the MS KB835732 patched installed, along with Service Pack 4. No avail...

(EDIT) Problem FIXED
