Desktop CPU/Fan software monitor: need recommendation

I've used I8kfanGUI in the past on a 600m w/ satisfaction. Now I need to monitor CPU & Fan temperature and speeds on a desktop: Dimension 4550 (P4/2.53Ghz).

What is a recommended free/shareware desktop cpu&fan monitor similar or equivalent to what I8kfanGUI provides? 😕

I remember using SpeedFan 1-2yrs ago on this Dimension (build date Oct 2002) and I don't think I was thrilled w/ it at the time.

Anyway I just installed SpeedFan v4.32 and it does not recognize my Intel CPU or Seagate Drive or any fans. It only recognizes my 5yr old slave WD drive (43C btw). So I guess I still unhappy 🙁

I also installed a CPUCool and it does report my CPU temp ( (43C btw) but no fan speed or HD temps.

Still need help and > tx to -zagtood!
