Now that I built a new computer (with the valuable help of this forum (https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/new-desktop-computer.2553136/page-3#post-39748411), I decided to connect my old one to the TV. It is a pretty decent mini desktop, an HP ProDesk 400 Mini 3rd gen (https://store.hp.com/us/en/mdp/prodesk-400-mini-349536--1#!&tab=vao), which I beefed up a little bit. It has an Intel Core i5-7500T processor, 8 GB RAM 2400 MHz, a 240 GB SSD, and an integrated video card. Not a beast, but quite usable. I bought a Logitech K400 Plus keyboard to use it on my TV.

What I am trying to figure out now is how to do with the software. I am of course aware of several applications I could and should use on a "media device", such as Spotify and Netflix. I am wondering whether there would be any tweaks to the Windows interface that would make it more palatable for using it via an integrated keyboard and trackpad while sitting on a couch. Any help with that?

Thanks.

dude, prepare to be amazed with this set up!

I use kodi for this. You install kodi, put videos on it or install addons which prob cant talk about here, do a search its easy.

Then run to tv with hdmi.

Use remote to switch input to computer.

Then use phone with kodi remote app Kore to watch tv.

So easy you dont need a strong machine like that to do it more important to have fast internet to it.

But its great, I was using it earlier today
