Computer Geeks is selling them for $12.95. Shipping from So. California to Seattle was about $13.

This isn't a Geek special, so if you use your Mastercard and the MC Exclusives code you can get 10% off the price. These are big cases, without too many drive bays, but it does come with an extra pre-installed 3" fan and the 230 watt power supply by Sparkle seems a notch above generic. If you want a destop case instead of tower, these are a pretty good deal. I think these are higher quality than the generic tower case Computer Geeks sells.

If you want, the case will sit on the side and mimic a tower. Most CD drives will work in the vertical position.

Wow! Thanks for the tip. I have been looking for a really cheap ATX case with free or cheap shipping and this was perfect. I got the mid-tower case for $22.00 instead and shipping was only $7.00.

Good find, I almost forgot all about Compgeeks even though I've bought several things from them before.

I bought this case a few weeks ago. I wasn't looking for anything special since I was just going to put it in my arcade cabinet. I am very happy with it. Really solid, easy to work on (the HDD/Floppy mount can be removed from the chassis for easy upgrades.) If you need a desktop chassis, get this one.

The tower case you link to only has a 200 watt power supply. I would avoid this at all costs, as you should have 250 watt or more to run most of todays motherboards and video cards. Some might squeak by with a 230 watt supply, while others may require a 300 watt supply. But 200 watt will not cut it.

But, if you somehow think 200 watt's is enough, then Geeks has a nice combo that includes this Case plus Floppy, Keyboard, Mouse, and speakers for $31.50

You guys SHUT UP about those desktop cases! I want them all to myself :)
I got two of them a couple of weeks ago and love them. Both mine came with Sparkle 235W PS. They're roomy and well built. The only beef I have with them is that the air intake in the front cover is on the small side. But a little drilling will fix that.
They've got Wingman 3D sticks for about $20 too. I love those sticks.

250w was what I thought too, but they must have changed it.
The cheap towers referred to also "used to be" 250w, but are now 200w.
I had bought a few of them when they were 250w, and they were great for the $$.
Kit now says 200w, and that is the same one used in the single tower deal.

Vpham, I have that MidTower/250W and the PS is mounted sideways (vertically), if that's what you mean. The build quality is also pretty cheap inside - almost tin can-like.

Thanks for responding! I was wondering, on ATX motherboard, does the CPU have to go behind the power supply? If it does, is there enough room for the CPU to be sufficienly cooled w/ the midtower. Is it pretty crampy inside, i.e. Hardrive right next to the memory ram? I've a tight fitting case b4 I went w/ the Antec Sx1030 case.

since there is a price drop, I've started a new thread here.

Yes, the CPU is sandwiched between the mobo & the power supply, but there are enough ventilation holes in the back to circulate air. Spacewise, it's not that bad - much better than my old InWin A500 which had a thick support bracket that ran across almost the entire top half of the chassis.

But if you're looking for something that's solidly built, I'd stay away from the geeks midtower case. Myself, I'm using an InWin Q600 full tower on my main system. (Onvia scr3wed up my SX1030B order months ago, I ended buying four little cases to compensate for my loss :))

I've got my case today too.
It's very light. It's thin, but not that thin.

Now I won't break my back moving heavy case around. That Antec Sx1030 was very well built, but it weigh a ton.
