Desk top back ground picture problem

Could any one tell me why my desktop background picture dont display ,if i select the picture i want as as backgroundit shows fine after i restart i lose my picture and need to set picture again what a pain! iam running windows XP Pro service pack 2 and help would be gratefull?

Does it do that with *any* background image, or only the one you currently want to use? It could be driver related, it could be a problem with the image (not too likely), or you might have some other junk on the system causing problems. Since I don't feel like going into much depth right now, you could try reading about MalWare and taking the suggested steps to see if that helps.

Place the images you want to use in your windows directory, c:\windows. Then use the image you want.
