Designing a new comp-Everyone's favorite Thread

Ok Design Criteria:
1. Budget: 3,000
2. The ability to adapt into 64 bit world when the time is right..also Dual Core appears to be very interesting to me as I am a heavy multitasker.
3. Dual Flat Screen Setup (already have 1 Sony SDM HX93)...my thoughts were leaning towards an lcd tv or something of the sort but I am not very up to date.
4. HD-TV tuner capabilities...however, I am biased towards NVidia, due to stockholder sympathies. Which means a tuner card if I am not mistaken. Feel free to make a case otherwise but no fanboi stuff.
5. SLI- though there appear to be some ramifications with large lcd monitors.
6. Ready for video editing upgrade, not at the moment but needs to be prepared to do mid-level video editing.
7. Dabble in overclocking but not an extreme amount.
8. And I want it to work, and work consitently. I want something that is rock solid.

Propose away, and if there are any questions, I'll be here monitoring the thread.

If you OC then you should not get the greatest X2 but make sure you get one of the 1mb cache per core chips....

I would look at the 4400+ for 580ish-600

I would look at high end big power supply...OCZ 600 watt adjustable...PC POwer and Cooling, etc....

You will want 2gb of ram at least and try to get that in (2) 1gb MODULES....Try to get somthing that can run tight cas 2-2-2-x timings in the 400ddr range...pretty much all you need...OCZ VX memory perhaps or other UTT modules...

I dont think Nvidia has an HD-TV tuner type card yet so you may be SOL there...

I would go DFI NF4 SLI board...will be the best overclocker out there....

I would look at getting 1 raptor 74gb drive for OS and get 2 or or so 200-250GB storage SATA drives with NCQ

I would look at water cooling with the price limit you have up there and get this thing near silent...will need 1 water block for the cpu, 2 for the gpu, and 1 more for the chipset...If you go air look at getting BFG cards ( I find them quieter with their fan and HS solutions)...unless you want to get some artic silencers and then an XP-120 for the cpu....

Rock solid can be achieved with OCing but you need to be prepared to work for it....nothing is easy and nothing is guaranteed...

Well what I was considering, was something along the lines of
Athlon 64 X2 4400
NForce 4 SLI
2 Nvidia 6800 Gt's
1 TBD video tuner
2 gb OF 400DDR ram
1 raptor, and 1 200 gb Sata (bring in another and editing needs demand)
A dell 24 inch lcd/tv to go along with the sony I have

I don't feel that I am experienced enough to due the watercooler setup but I haven't really looked in to it.

what is this going to be used for primarily? is this a gaming pc? a workstation? home/work? i'd prioritize hardware depending on its usage.
