Designing a new article management system ... any ideas?

I know what *I* want, but maybe some ideas from you guys will help me plan out how I'm going to design this. It's going to be a rather simple system, but will have enough features to be useful.

Of course if you already know of a CMS that you prefer, maybe I'll just use that instead. :p

what are you talking about? Article management system? like inventory or assest management? CMS = content management system

Save yourself the hassle of reinventing the wheel and just alter an existing CMS instead. ;)

Like I should talk, though. I wrote an Advice Area for my personal website using PHP & MySQL. Dynamic pages, timestamping, user management. It's a fun little exercise. :)

SagaLore: Get geeklog, IMO the best CMS out there, I have used a ton and this is by far the best what I've ever used.

That looks cool... your site looks like a good demo for it. I have tried Nucleus before, but I found it to have too many features and was very hard to modify a template for.
