I have access to a water jet machine...its similiar to a laser cutter, except the waterjet can go through just about any material up to several feet thick. It is all computer controlled, and unlike laser, there is no chance of getting any burn marks.
I want to make custom fan grills, made out of 1/16 aluminum or cut directly onto your case (you would need to send me your side panel). So I am going to hold a design competition for fan grills. I will give you guys a week to come up with a bunch of designs, and then I will make a poll so you can vote on which designs you guys like best. The people who made the top designs will get a few free fan grills or have the design cut into their case.
I can accept the entries in .jpg or .gif, but it would be much much easier if you could send them to me in .dxf format.
Not sure on the pricing yet, since it will depend on how complex the designs are, but it should be less than $10 per grill and less if bought in quantities.
