Yeah, I just hate the word and think everyone that uses it sounds ignorant.. I also don't like the "connotation".. The implication is that american "desis" are indian citizens first and AMERICANS seconds.. If that's the case- go back to fvcking india and be a true "desi"

I hate the word "desi". It just seems so...uncultured? Not the right word.

Better service from desi people my age (~22), much worse from people older (40+). I swear, and others have confirmed, that older desi men are the absolute worst at customer service. Shady, sleazy, leering. Next are the desi young women who are typically bubbleheads. I've worked in electronics with both. Yikes. 😕

When my dad came, he was a patel, but then he realized, "holy sh!t, there's are a lotta patels up in here." Soo... he changed our last name to AMRIT. My mom kept Patel for like 20 years, but to makes bills easier, she changed to couple years ago... but yah, I wish I was a Patel.

Bet its desai...by the way I get better treatment from Indian ppl when outside Indian environment (meaning outside Indian stores, restaurants) and especially because I go to UF (Florida) its overrun by Indian ppl of all different kinds so we're all pretty cool with each other...a lot of parties and a lot of good looking indian gurls...
