i agree with that steam not working comment, its sucessfully prevented me form palying CS, instead of giving me the new patch... odd

dang, i'm getting sick of this. I try to get into a server to play and I find out I can't get in b/c I have to update. This happens like every month it seems like. Now I have to download 573 MB!!?! But you know what.....the game is so good, I'll be downloading it tonight and trying it out, I'm addicted

I downloaded that 270mb cache file and now Steam/CS 1.6 work flawlessly! I love how I finally get 1280x1024 res (previous version only did 1280x960??) so LCD is in native res. Performance has definately improved...they've got some new netcode in their somewhere! And the new menus are cool...plus as you know you no longer lose sound. The only prob I have now is that sometimes I get a mousehair floating on my crosshair...and that's annoying.

Man its soooo hard to fly the planes and the choppers. I am using a Nostromo N45 and I can take off and fly the plane ok but the hard part for me is navigation. I keep having to hit M too see where I am going, otherwise I end up going off the mission area and I get shot down for going AWOL. Are there any guides on how to use the planes/helis? (I just installed DC last night, got BF1942 for 20 bucks on the CompUSSR deal)

Just practice, it gets easier. Do it on a solo game, though- nothings worse than putting up with a newb pilot. I typically tk them if I see them heading for the pilots seat.

New missiles, dual seat f14, cars, trucks and new kick ass maps. I think they again "unbalanced" some stuff, though.
